Frequently we get some common questions and answers we like to pass on. Heres an except from just an email: ( her wedding will take place in Indiana)

Hello Gary,

Since Diana is my first child to marry, I am unsure of how much time we need…. I know that she would like some pictures at the church getting ready and with her girls (she does not want Hayden to see her before she walks down the aisle). – She would like Hayden and his fellows to have some pictures when the girls are finished, and then pictures during and after the ceremony and at the reception. Can you advise me?

How did I find you…? My daughter’s quest to find a photographer who could do more than just take a picture –someone who could capture the inner being and the love of those she held dear… I realized that she was actually looking for someone who knew what her grandfather had been teaching her since she was born…. (I sometimes think she was his teacher)…. I spent hours searching the net, making phone calls and talking with people……frustrated, I asked my dad (who passed from this life to the next) to help me find the person that was supposed to take on this task… I sat down at my computer and searched again – this time your name appeared on the page… I looked at your photos and saw that you captured far more than anyone else I had looked at….I heard that little voice in my head say look at his bio. I read it, and I knew that my search was over… I was exactly where I was supposed to be.

Dear Lynn

Weddings are a big deal for me. I advise by heart and soul. The mind will do the rest balancing the two. Most will just use the mind and deception of the heart. I rely on a spiritual calm to give people the best information - and sublime love. The choice to ultimately help or hurt is always the only choice. So - I will try to help you with his precious balance the best I can.

I think about 7 hours always works the best. I do not like for a bride to punch a clock and should take the day to celebrate the heart of the soul. Time is of an essence, but knowing the time a bride and groom have to visit guests, dance, eat, drink and just enjoy the atmosphere of the day - I do not want to rush them in to "posed" pictures because they are short on photo time nor do I want to monopolize THEIR" time. This is a special day and I am there to capture it - recreate the felling and honor the love.

Time will allow me to allow the day to flow "her" way. As she gets ready, he gets ready and family gather, I can be their to make this memories happen naturally. As we get closer to the day she can know that a very loose schedule will work without "punching the clock".

This day of love is wonderful. And I am always honored to be a part of it.

Andrea of The '07 is... Simply Stunning

There is something to be said about the spirit in this person called "Andrea". Her smile is beautiful, her eyes pierce through her shining personality and by just looking at her pictures you know you have known something pretty wonderful. She and her Joe share something to envy as well as something so loving. Look below - and get to know Andrea a little better. Brad and Kendra begin their Love Story

This past Saturday marked one of the loveliest weddings I've ever experienced. Michelle and Tom's love really showed in all of their guests, the family and the atmosphere throughout the entire day. I could photograph them every week. It was so much fun!!!

Whenever I have the chance to use a great location I do. Its something different for those that go to the same stale background they have used before. This works especially nice for seniors since most photographers try to grind them out through a factory like atmosphere. The session here was for an engagement. Alyson was in town from Arizona and wanted something she could take back until she was married in September. Beautiful !!!

Engagement and Romance

As the afternoon sun warmed the garden today for Alyson and Brandon's session, their engagement photographs were wonderful. The warmer light and evening sun always does wonderfully, but the personality of Alyson and Brandon together as one was artwork captured in our memories.

I am working on the Mother Daughter Luncheon committee. It is sure to be a fabulous event. The "Mother Daughter Tea for Two Luncheon" will be held Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the Capital Club located at 41 S. High Street, Huntington Center, 7th floor.
I am in need of 6 models (4 women, 2 children). Clothes will be provided by Von Maur. This is a charity event so unfortunately I have no budget but it would be a great opportunity for experience.

Mothers Day

We aren't just weddings...

Its amazing how this time of year with Easter, Mothers Day and summer approaching, that children feel more like getting photographed. ( Or maybe its mom that does....lol) An old style that always seems to come back over and over - classic in style and yet timeless , is the black and white. Shooting digital - everything starts in color - we then transfer it to a black and white for a beautiful look. Some parents still choose to have both, color and black and white. Being digital means - we do the retouching - color to black and white, brown tone, oh... we do can do about anything you ask without having to depend on outside sources to do the work. The thing is - have fun and enjoy these years by saving a memory artfully done - forever.

Wedding Packaging is not hard

Being asked about wedding packaging and pricing can be a little different for us. We do not have any packaging and prices written in stone. We have always tried to avoid the cookie cutter packing we have seen in the past. We have packaging for a pretty good guide - but every wedding is different. We like keeping it that way. Our pricing is generally around $949.00 to $6000.00 . But that's a pretty wide range. Most of the brides don't need three photographers and multiple volumes of albums. We customize every album so no two look alike. And we do traditional albums as well as fine art albums. Theres always so many choices to think about. It is wedding planning season!!!!

Its wedding planning season!!! Starting in about December, we get so many calls and referrals about weddings. We usually expect a 6-9 month time before the wedding to be contacted, but this year 2007 has really taken off. Whenever we photography a wedding, we like to look at the other friends and family and do something special. Sometimes its posed, sometimes its just nice for everyone to just "hug up". We used to have to charge for this - but anymore we take care of it at no extra charge because our digital process makes it all so much better. We even show the images for out all day coverage that evening so everyone at the reception can have a great time seeing everyone together. Later that week we put everything up online so anyone the bride wants to share photos with - can. They can even purchase online. Regardless of what is bought or not, we feel this day is about the bride and groom. We are always so honored to be there.
 

Engagement Sessions

We get so many questions about what to do with an engagement session. I have found that just being you is the best. We can give you ideas and ask questions about what you'd like to portray - but you have to be you. Its really about personality and romance. It does not get much better than that. Whether you are looking for indoor or outdoor - color, black and white or even brown tones - make it YOUR session. Most of our engagement sessions are at discounted and free rates - so theres no risk at worrying about this special time that is a little more casual. So be relaxed and enjoy this once in a lifetime moment.
